Follow up from yesterday

This picture is the failure of the scooter booter....

This is what I have since done with the gearbox, and my newly arrived hub!
I'll have to add one the controls and what not to the handle bars and reposition the CIM because my foot won't fit on the scooter properly.

This is what the arm looked like last night

Fortunately, I have fixed all the issues with the motors I think for the time being. (One of which I did with cardboard, don't hate) Anyway, it is not lying on its side anymore today. I'm waiting for parts to come in to finish the electronics once and for all.

As an aside, I discovered recently that the TI launchpad series microcontroller boards with the MSP430's might not be as bad to program as one might think. Though they give you instructions on using C to program it, I found a program called energia that allows one to program the chip in an arduino-like environment. This is much easier to work with, and it basically allows one to buy an arduino at about 1/3 the cost. Bear in mind this though, the launchpad has fewer i/o ports, RAM, and storage, but for an average tinkerer, it's probably good enough.
